Minutes of the Meeting

Tuesday, October 9, 2001

 

Members Present:

Call To Order:

            The meeting was called to order at 7:40 by Bodo Lux, President..

 

Review of Previous Meeting Minutes:

            The minutes of the September meeting were distributed at the meeting.  Bodo asked if there were any additions or corrections to be made.  

            >Motion was made by Gary to accept the minutes, seconded by Joyce.  Motion passed. 

 

Treasurer’s Report:

            Linda presented a written report to the board.  

            >Motion was made by Stan to accept the treasurer’s report.  Seconded by Joyce.  Motion passed.

           

MOU:

            There is no meeting on October 10.  Not enough people from the other lakes could attend.

            On Thursday, October 11 there is a meeting regarding the lake levels in Oakland County with relation to augmentation wells at the Board of County Commissioners.  Someone from our board is expecting to attend.

            Next week Stan and Bodo are expected to meet with Colani.  He would like to form standards for county with our MOU as model.

            Haywood still thinks we need to make MOU a court order.

 

Airport:

            There is currently a petition being passed among homeowners on the other side of the airport.  There is a lack of funds to proceed with surveys..

 

Halloween Party:

            No luck with a location for the party so this year’s party will not take place for the children or the adults.

 

Festival of Lights:

            Everyone thought it was a pretty good turnout for the first year.  Suggestions were made to possibly do it earlier next year. 

            It was decided to mark the date on our calendars for the Luau and boat parade next year.  Saturday, July 13 will be the boat parade and Sunday, July 14 is the Luau.

 

Annual Meeting:

            The meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 6 at the Township hall in conjunction with the Weed Harvesting Company.

            Sgt. Thomas or a rep from the sheriff’s office will be the guest at the meeting.  He will bring the statistics on tickets of drop in sheriffs.

 

Weed Harvesting:

            The Weed Harvesting Company is seriously considering raising the amount of tax we pay to support it due to higher costs.

 

Newsletter:

            All articles are in for the newsletter and it should be distributed as soon as possible when street reps receive it.  The notice for the annual meeting will be distributed at the same time.

 

Winterfest:

            The date is set for Sunday, January 27.  Yvette asked that we begin to ask for donations for prizes.

 

Invoices:

            Invoices will be distributed just like last year.  Yvette will purchase laser labels to address our return envelopes.

 

Candlelight Visual:

            Thursday at 7:30 pm.

Condo Issues:

            The Condo Association asked the township if they could park boats next to condos and the township said they could. 

 

New Business:

            Yvette shared her letters of correspondence with Mr. Indish.  He was concerned about the fishing in our lake and the application of weed control.

 

Next Meeting:

            The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 6 at the Township hall.  The following meeting will be Tuesday, December 11 at Bodo Lux’s house.
